Today was an okay day. School was long and a little boring, but we got out early so that was good. I've been thinking about trying to go home some time, but I'm not sure if I should risk it. I know that they shut down the pass a while ago because of conditions; plus, there was a 28 car pileup in Vantage two days ago. So, although I really miss everyone, I don't think it's worth my life. I'm pretty sad about it though, Tom and I are celebrating two years on MLK day and I won't get to be there. I ...

I'm back in Spokane now. Thanks to everyone who wished me well on my journey over the pass, it helps to know that people care. There has been more snow here than I know how to deal with. I think at one point we had almost two feet at my house, and we're not talking Tacoma-snow that melts in a few hours. No, this junk sticks around. Our house here had a pitched roof and every-so-often there's a loud scary rumbling noise and you can see all the snow slide off the roof and smash into the deck. It'...

We went to the space needle for New Years Eve and watched the fireworks. It was really cool. When we got there we wandered around and watched people ice skate. Then we played hacky-sack with some cute guys. Tom wasn't having fun at the beggining because it was too cold outside, but by the end I think he enjoyed himself. We ended up watching the fireworks from the fountain in front of the key arena. A bunch of people were down there looking at the fountain and it turned on and soaked them (ha!). ...

If you haven't already visited my website, please do. I think it's coming along quite nicely. I finally made it home after the looooong trek over the pass. I guess there was a wind storm a few nights ago because the power was out all along 18 and none of the traffic signals were working. So I got stuck for a few hours in stop-and-go traffic because everyone had to stop at the signal instead of just going through the green light (bah!). But at least I'm home for about a month. Lindy comes h...

I'm trying to figure out the name of a book I read in high school. It was about this family that moves to South America to escape the materialism of the United States. They live on the river and they start a commune. There is a little girl in the story named Clover. I remmember that there were missionaries in the book too. In the end the father ends up dying on the beach and the family moves back to the U.S. If anyone knows what the name of this book is, pleeeeeeease let me know, it's driving m...

Well, the "moving out" conversation went better than expected. There was no yelling When I told her she just sat there for a while, then she said, "You're making a mistake." She's bothered that I would want to spend my time with someone who is poor. She said, "but you're so pretty, you could marry a lawyer!" Odd, I didn't know that I needed to marry a rich man to be happy. I'm a little offended at the insinuation that I would need to marry someone rich in order to survive. I can't understand wh...

Today is the day I tell my Mother that I'm planning to move in with my boyfriend this summer. I'm not exactly sure how she'll react, although I am expecting threats and possibly tears. She's a fairly religious person so I doubt she'll think that "living in sin" is alright. I'm not sure whether I'm ready to talk to her about it because I know that she knows all of my weak spots. Now is as good a time as any though, and I know if I don't do it when she gets home, I'll never have the guts. The bes...

New Page 1 I'm leaving to drive over the pass today...(ick!) I'm not very excited aboutthe drive but it's worth it to get there and be with Tom again. Here's a little something that I wrote the last time time I was stuck on thepass. As you can see, I'm fairly bitter.   In honor of the Thanksgiving holiday, I must say to thosewho are driving to visit family: Don’t go! Stay home and eat leftovermacaroni!   I didn’t heedthis warning, and I paid the price. Picture this...

Welcome to my blog. Hopefully this will become something more than just a one-day amusement, but we'll have to see.
